About the event
A few commentators have written that the unfolding of events after October 7th in Israel and Gaza have revealed that Israel and the Jewish people are alone, set against the world that no longer stands by the legitimacy of the Jewish nation and in many places tolerates anti-semitism. This view is powerfully conveyed in an essay by Yossi Klein-Halevy: The lonely people of history | Yossi Klein Halevi | The Blogs (timesofisrael.com). This piece will serve as the foundation for our conversation led by Rabbi Dov Gartenberg over Shabbat lunch.
Pre-registration and a potluck contribution are required to attend. Places are limited for this gathering to facilitate a vigorous and respectful conversation. We recommend that you rsvp early. Please read the article listed above prior to the gathering.
